Information technology jobs with Tuscaloosa County are in higher demand than ever.

Tuscaloosa County IT Director James Tullidge said jobs in the county could receive a pay increase because of the need for qualified people in the position.

He said a pay increase is necessary if the county wants to move forward.

“If we want to continue to move forward we are going to have to pay people because technology demand right now is through the roof,” said Tullidge. “We have got to be there because this benefits the county and it benefits the tax payers for us to do this.”

He also thinks it would incentivize University of Alabama graduates to work for the county.
