Tuscaloosa County Commission Roundup

The Tuscaloosa County Commission approved the purchase of CPR equipment for every volunteer fire department in the county.
This was made possible using funding from the “CARES Act” (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security).
Chief Deputy Byron Waid said this will allow departments in rural areas to get medical equipment they could not otherwise afford.
The TCC also awarded $2,900 to the Tuscaloosa Parks and Recreation Authority to repair the lights on the Hillcrest softball fields at Englewood Elementary School.
Commissioner Mark Nelson said this will improve safety for players, parents, and fans who attend the games. As well as alleviate some of the financial burden on parents since fundraising was halted due to COVID-19.
