TUSCALOOSA COUNTY COMMISSION RESEARCHING NEW COUNTY INSURANCE PLANS
The Tuscaloosa County Commission discussed possible new health insurance plans for county workers at their weekly meeting Wednesday.
In particular, the commission is looking at plans that provide better preventative care coverage for employees.
The county is expecting to make a decision by April, and there are three plans they’re considering.
“We talk so much about treating illness, but there is also that part of health care which is preventative,” said Tuscaloosa County District 3 Commissioner Mark Nelson.
Preventative care keeps people healthy, Nelson said, which is an important factor in choosing the right plan.
