A farmers market could be coming to Fosters, and the Tuscaloosa County Commission took a step toward that goal on Wednesday.
The potential future farmers market will be located in Braughton Park, and on Wednesday commissioners approved starting the bid and planning process.
This is something residents in Fosters have been requesting for quite some time.
“We are going to be a community that’s able to come together and celebrate our culture, our heritage and the different things we like to do like farm and quilt or make jams,” said Fosters resident Heather Miller at the Tuscaloosa County Commission meeting.
The current plan is to model the farmers market after the one in Northport.
“I’m excited that they are going to move forward,” Miller said.
