TUSCALOOSA COUNTY COMMISSION GIVES $5K TO MEALS ON WHEELS

The Tuscaloosa County Commission approved giving $5,000 to Community Service Programs of West Alabama to better fund its Meals on Wheels program.

Tuscaloosa County Commissioners said they feel more people are in need of the service because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Meals on Wheels community service serves 10 counties, so that $5,000 will cover about 1,000 meals,” said District 2 County Commissioner Jerry Tingle. “We expect that they’ll use that money pretty quickly, probably by June or July.”
