Tuscaloosa City Schools superintendent meets with parents Thursday

Parents who have questions about Tuscaloosa City Schools had a space where they could get answers Thursday, as Superintendent Mike Daria hosted a Casual Conversation meeting.
These meetings, Daria said, were created to provide a smaller, intimate setting so parents could meet with him and ask questions in a more casual setting.
About a dozen parents participated in Thursday’s meeting, and all seemed pleased with the way Daria answered their questions and concerns.
“I think it was very good,” said TCS parent Subrina Champion. “It was a small setting, but it was an opportunity for one of us to just ask a pending question about our child’s school or a question about what we can do to help, or find out more about what the school system is doing.”
Some issues parents brought up included students’ schedules, campus safety, and cellphone usage in classrooms.
The Thursday meeting was the third in a series Daria is hosting.
