Tuscaloosa City Schools extending mask mandate another 2 weeks

Tuscaloosa City Schools is staying masks-on for at least another two weeks, the system announced today.
As of Jan. 28, TCS is reporting a two-week average COVID-19 positive rate of 2.92%. The system’s threshold for removing the masking requirement is 1%.
If the two-week average falls to 1% or below by Feb. 11, TCS will return to a masks-optional environment.
According to the TCS COVID-19 Dashboard, as of Jan. 28 there are 79 students with an active COVID-19 case, and 12 employees with an active COVID-19 case.
