Tuscaloosa city council approves Royal Pines subdivision development

Tuscaloosa City Council members have voted to approve the unit development of the Royal Pines subdivision.

The new proposal features a 49-lot single-family residential planned development, with community and home features.

Even though the council approved the development, District 1 Council Member Matthew Wilson said he wants to ensure the current Royal Pines residents’ quality of life would not be negatively impacted.

“One thing that we have been doing is first of all making sure that this new development that is coming will not give anymore flooding that has already been given and done to the community that’s already there,” said Wilson.

Wilson made it clear the community does in fact want the development but also wants to make sure there are no flooding issues in the area.
