Tuscaloosa City Council approves funding for Christmas dinner

The Tuscaloosa City Council approved funding for the annual Christmas dinner happening later this month at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA.

District 1 Council Member Matthew Wilson requested $1,575.78 be allocated from the District 1 improvement fund. Wilson said he is thankful for the funding, which will help decrease the cost of the dinner for the community.

“One thing that you can expect is some good food coming to our senior citizens’ luncheon at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA,” Wilson said. “Our seniors are our epitome of greatness. We stand on their shoulders. The Benjamin Barnes YMCA means so much to the community.”

The 2022 Christmas dinner is scheduled for Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA in Tuscaloosa.
