Tuscaloosa Chief Brent Blankley honored with international award

Tuscaloosa Police Chief Brent Blankley was recently selected for the International Association of Chief of Police 2021 40 under 40.
The list consists of top rising leaders from around who globe who exemplify leadership and community service through their profession.
After Tuesday’s City Council meeting, Blankley said the recognition is an honor.
“You know, I was very surprised, I was very humbled by it,” Blankley said. “Our guys and girls at the police department, they do all the hard work day in and day out. For me to be recognized for that was just a real honor and I’m very grateful.”
The IACP is an international organization committed to advancing safer communities through thoughtful, progressive police leadership.
Blankley is in a class with people from 15 other states, as well as six other countries.
