Wednesday morning was an exciting time for the Tuscaloosa community and city leaders, as it was the groundbreaking on the new River District Park.

The park will be constructed next to the amphitheater and serve as an outdoor extension of The Saban Center.

Terry Saban says that families can look forward to spend their days outdoors and experience the best of both worlds.

“Families will be able to come here, bring their children and visit The Saban Center,” said Saban. “It will have visiting exhibitions, mummies, dinosaurs, science and technology exhibitions, so they can spend a lot of their time there. They can also come outside, walk along the river, enjoy a concert. I mean, there is just so much for families to do here.”

Construction is set to be completed by 2022. Learn more about River District Park right here.
