Turner ousts Jackson as 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney

For District Attorney of the 4th Judicial Circuit, Robert H. Turner, Jr. defeated incumbent Michael Jackson with 54.15%, or 9,178 votes.

Turner, a member of the firm Turner, Turner and Bryant in Marion, will appear on the Democratic ticket for the general election on Nov. 8. If elected, he would be the second Black man to serve in this role.

Michael Jackson was first elected district attorney in 2004, the first Black man to serve in that role in state history.

The 4th Judicial Circuit covers Dallas, Hale, Bibb, Perry and Wilcox Counties.
