Firefighters say they believe a fire that destroyed a home this morning in Northport began at the back of the house.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. on 20th Avenue in Northport, and caused extensive damage to the rear, attic and other areas.
Firefighters said the call came in from someone who was passing by and saw smoke. No one was home at the time of the blaze.
