Two trucks were stolen from the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department Tuesday morning. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, two vehicles were stolen and later wrecked and left abandoned on the side of the road on U.S. Highway 171.

Chief Brown of the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department said the trucks appear to have minor damage but won’t be assessed until after the investigation is complete.

“The community has no fire coverage we are totally out of service due to the investigation. We cant touch anything in our station so if there’s a house fire we have to wait on neighboring departments to come because we cant respond to our community calls right now,” said Brown.

If you have information, call the sheriff’s office at 205-752-0616.
