TOYS FOR TICKETS: TUSCALOOSA OFFERING TOY DONATION FOR PARKING FINES
Christmas is coming, and the city of Tuscaloosa is offering parking offenders a chance to pay their fines and spread joy at the same time.
The Tuscaloosa City Council approved a resolution Oct. 22 that lets residents pay off some parking tickets with a toy donation to Toys for Tots.
Toys valued at $10 or more will be accepted for $15 tickets, and toys valued at $20 or more will be accepted for two $15 parking tickets.
Anyone wanting in on the offer can bring toys to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court, 2122 Sixth St., between Nov. 15 and Dec. 15.
Donators are requested to bring receipts for their purchases, or a price tag for proof of the toy’s value.
