The City of Tuscaloosa is implementing a tobacco – free policy beginning in 2016.
City facilities, grounds and vehicles will fall under the policy.
The use of e-cigarettes and all tobacco, including smokeless will be banned in all facilities, grounds and parking areas owned, rented or leased by the city.
Deidre Stalnaker with the City of Tuscaloosa says the change protects people from the dangers of second-hand smoke, promotes a healthier environment and reduces littering.
Locals we spoke with seem to be on board with the change.

Over the next few months, the City of Tuscaloosa will implement an information campaign and begin working with employees who wish to break their addiction to tobacco products..
