Tip leads to arrest of 24-year-old for possession of obscene material depicting children

The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force arrested a 24-year-old man with ties to Tuscaloosa Friday. Joe Bradley Garvin was arrested Friday morning after the task force received a tip that Garvin was in possession of obscene material depicting a child younger than 17. The officers started their investigation in March. By July, they had searched Garvin’s Tuscaloosa home and found images and videos depicting child sex abuse. Garvin was charged with 10 counts of obscene material depicting a child. He was arrested Friday and later released on a $150,000 bond. West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force was aided by the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and TPD’s Cyber Intelligence Unit. Investigators said additional charges maybe filed as they continue the investigation.
