There are still plenty of tickets left for the Alabama-LSU game, but if you want them, you’re going to have to pay a pretty penny. Ticket prices are literally making headlines.

“It’s running about $275 or higher a to get in the door,” T-Town Tickets Owner Candice Carden told WVUA 23 Reporter Chelsea Barton. “Anything in the lower level is running about $400 and up.”

Carden said these prices are reminiscent of the 2011 game of the century tickets, but the 2019 match up does not quite match up to those. At least not yet.

“Tickets were really crazy for that game,” Carden said. “It may be a little bit less than that game just because both teams have done this before, whereas then it was right when Alabama and LSU had just started winning. So it was just new. Ticket prices were a little more expensive. These are right there with them. Maybe a few hundred dollars less,” Carden said.

There is always the chance that prices will come down as the desperation to sell sets in closer to game time.

“You never can tell,” Carden said. “You are always playing the odds if you wait. Usually the market would tell you the price comes down the closer you wait to game time. There are a lot of sellers right now, so my betting guess is that the price will come down a little bit closer to time, but it’s not going to be a cheap ticket.”

Some may think ticket prices are climbing higher with reports that President Donald Trump may be in attendance, but Carden said that’s not the case.

“It really hasn’t changed the price,” Carden said. “I read somewhere they thought the price may come down because it would be such a pain to get to the game now, but I haven’t seen that. I don’t think it’s going to have much effect either way.”

If you take anything away from this story, listen to this.

“Any time there is a big ticket in Tuscaloosa, there are going to be scams out there,” Carden said. “You need to know who you are purchasing the ticket from. I always encourage buying from a licensed broker. I can see it. I am seeing it on Facebook. There are tons scammers out there. Tons of people trying to get your money for this game. “
