THREE MENTAL HEALTH OFFICERS HIRED TO TUSCALOOSA COUNTY RANKS

Tuscaloosa Police

Tuscaloosa County Probate Judge Rob Robertson added three additional mental health officers to the county’s ranks, bringing the total to seven.

In addition to performing normal law enforcement duties, these officers are trained to assist sheriffs, deputies and police with situations involving people who may suffer from a mental illness.

A mental health officer will be assigned to each of the county’s law enforcement agencies: the sheriff’s office, Northport, Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama Police Departments.
