THE LIFE OF DOUG LAYTON
Alabama Radio Legend Doug Layton has passed away after a 2 year bout with cancer. He was 81.
Layton served as the color commentator for Alabama Football Radio Broadcasts from 1969 – 2001, spanning the careers of 6 Crimson Tide head coaches.
On Thursday, he was remembered by fellow broadcasters, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Villetta, his daughter, Tyler, and his son, Doug Layton, Jr.
