The Final Stretch for Bama Baseball

By WVUA 23 Sports Reporter Drew Pavan

The University of Alabama baseball team has seven games remaining in the regular season. The Tide has their last non-conference game tonight at Jacksonville State.

The Crimson Tide will have two final SEC series following the game tonight: one this weekend against Auburn at Auburn and then a final SEC home series against Arkansas.

On Sunday, the Crimson Tide suffered a devastating 12-3 home loss against the 19th ranked LSU Tigers as the Tigers clinched the series win.

Alabama has fallen to 26-22 overall and 10-14 in SEC play.

The Tide has some to work to do if they want to reach an NCAA Regional. The popular wisdom is that if they can finish with a 14-16 SEC record they will make it to the regional.

Even for the Tide to reach that mark they will need to win four of six games against Auburn and Arkansas. That is not an easy task.

The Crimson Tide will play Jacksonville State tonight at 6.
