The Cypress Inn closed on Sunday, July 21 for renovations that may take several months, according to an article posted by 95.3 The Bear.

The Cypress Inn, an iconic Tuscaloosa eatery that originally opened in 1984, was purchased by Cathy and Bill Lunsford along with Ron Price in the fall of 2018.

In a letter given to employees by the Lundsfords and Price on Sunday, it was said that employees should “look for an announcement for new ownership soon.”

The Cypress Inn also posted a simple message on its Facebook page Sunday, announcing that it would be closing for maintenance and renovations.

No date was listed for a possible re-opening in either the letter to employees or the Facebook post.
