THE CLAIRE MARIE FOUNDATION MAKES ITS WAY TO TUSCALOOSA

59 year old Rocky Wagonhurst lost his daughter Claire Marie last year to melanoma. In honor of her memory he cycled from Charleston, South Carolina to Tuscaloosa. He chose those two places because Claire wanted to attend the University of Alabama and after graduation start her career in Charleston.

They had a plan to attend the Alabama vs. Ole Miss game together when she got into college. So when she was accepted to UA, just two days before she died, Rocky wanted to find a way to take his little girl to college and keep that promise of attending the game together. We kept up with his journey to Tuscaloosa that finally came to a bittersweet end on Saturday, September 19th.

Now, even though the the trip is over, their cause isn’t. The family hopes to raise enough money to provide free screening clinics in the Baltimore area.
