Temporary Emergency Services purchases portable shower units

One local agency is bringing something brand new to Tuscaloosa. Temporary Emergency Services has purchased two mobile shower units for just under $200,000.
These units also contain washers and dryers and will be available for the homeless community or anyone in need of a shower or clean clothes. Several days a week, the units will be driven to areas in need.
Temporary Emergency Services Executive Director Karen Thompson-Jackson said this is a boon for the community.
“We will be able to do case management on-site, and from there we are going to partner with other agencies in town to provide resources and services to those individuals that are in need,” she said. “This way, we can assist them with different resources right where they are.”
The mobile units will be ready by December.
