The Gordo Greenwave softball team finished the “shortened” spring sports season with an overall record of 10-4

WVUA 23 wants to give a shout out to the teams that had their seasons impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19.

The words “One Heartbeat” are painted on the outfield wall of the Gordo High School softball complex. It’s been the Greenwave’s team-motto for a number of years, but Gordo coach Greg Kosloff believes this season’s team embodies the term “One Heartbeat” more than any other he’s coached at the school.

“This team took that motto of every pitch, every catch, every throw, every hit–every time they stepped out of the dugout,” Kosloff said. “It was all business, 110 percent. And I saw it with this team more than any team I’ve had. We became “we”. We became “us”. The “me’s” and the “I’s” were gone. And as we talk the heartbeat, I saw the girls come all the way this way and form love for each other.”

Gordo softball finished the season with an overall record of 10-4.
