The Patriots had a 14-1 record when the spring sports season ended, due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

WVUA-23 wants to give a special shout-out to the teams that had their seasons affected by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
ACA baseball had a 14-1 record when the spring sports season was stopped. Head coach Del Howell believes the Patriots would have been a contender for an Alabama ‘State Title’ in Class 4A. But the void in the trophy case at American Christian Academy a hypothetical. Coach Howell misses certainty, knowing this group will not have another opportunity to take the field as one team.
“You never had to worry about anything,” Coach Howell said. “Alright, time to get serious, let’s go, let’s go stretch. Bam, they were out there stretching. Anything you told them to do, they did. I mean, you don’t have that anymore. And they want to be out there. They didn’t want to stop practice. It’s like, can we do more, can we hit more. I mean, we had to run them out of here. Like I said, all the pieces were falling together.”
