T-Town State Fair offers springtime carnival fun

Anyone driving near the Skyland and McFarland boulevards intersection over the past few days has surely seen the springtime staple at the former McFarland Mall: the T-Town State Fair is back.

The Kissel Entertainment-owned event features carnival staples including games, rides and plenty of food. Admission is $10 per person, and all-you-can-ride wristbands are an additional charge. You can purchase a wristband and admission online right here.

University of Alabama students Liz Rooney and Austin Passler said they saw the fair’s billboards and knew they had to get in on the fun.

“I have never been to a real fair before so it’s neat seeing all the games and rides,” said Passler.

Fair Director Keith Hamby said there are plenty of delectable carnival calorie bombs, from deep-fried Snickers bars to the more standard funnel cakes.

“The fair is such a great time,” Hamby said. “I just hope all Tuscaloosa residents enjoy all we have to offer.”

Fair hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The fair is ongoing through Sunday, April 24.
