SUV, COAL TRUCK COLLISION KILLS 1 ON HIGHWAY 82 IN COKER

A collision between an SUV and an S.T. Bunn coal truck at the intersection of Highway 82 and Sam Sutton Road this morning around 7:30 resulted in the death of one of the drivers. Any other injuries are unknown.

Authorities said it appears the SUV and truck crash happened when the SUV was attempting to turn onto Highway 82 off Sam Sutton Road.

Authorities said they’re waiting for the coroner to identify the person killed.

Traffic has been diverted to County Road 140 in Coker, resuming on Highway 82 at Westwood School Road.
