SUSPECTS ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN COTTONDALE

TUSCALOOSA – Agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force arrested two suspects on drug charges after the pair attempted to flee a traffic stop.

38-year-old Anthony Jerome Allen of Tuscaloosa was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Illegal Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

43-year-old Kenio Maurice Logan of Tuscaloosa was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Illegal Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Tuscaloosa Police, the arrest happened Thursday on the 6200 block of E University Blvd in Cottondale.

Agents said  they attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle which turned around and fled the area. Agents were able to stop the vehicle and noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside. Agents obtained consent to search and recovered digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Later, during a search of the suspects, 35 grams of cocaine HCL, a quantity of marijuana and $397.00 were seized during the investigation.

Both suspects were placed in Tuscaloosa County Jail where they were held on a total bond of $521,000.00 each.
