SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AFTER 1 PERSON SHOT FRIDAY MORNING
Tuscaloosa Police and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit are on the scene of a shooting this morning.
It happened in the 2000 block of Dinah Washington Avenue, where the victim was found after being shot with a shotgun. The victim is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Police found the accused shooter, identified as 17-year-old Kentavious Thompson at a home nearby. He initially refused to come to the door but eventually relented and was taken into custody.
Police said their investigation revealed the suspect and victim were arguing over the past week.
Thompson was charged with attempted murder and was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Despite Thompson’s age, he will be charged as an adult.
