A woman is facing murder charges after a pedestrian on Interstate 20/59 South died after being struck by a car this morning.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says Tuscaloosa County got a call just after 11 a.m. after the pedestrian, identified as 27-year-old Dennis Melton, was hit near the 76-mile marker and wound up trapped under a vehicle.

Officers got information indicating the incident may have been intentional, and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation.

Angelica Quintana, 28, of Demopolis, was arrested and charged with murder this afternoon. Investigators said Quintana and Melton were involved in a domestic relationship.

Quintana was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
