Stillman College announced Thursday that it has been gifted $100,000 for roof renovations at Winsborough Hall.
Roofing manufacturing company GAF in Tuscaloosa, provided $50,000 worth of materials and another $50,000 for installation costs.
The former residence hall and school for women will reopen as the Winsborough Living and Learning Center for Senior Citizens.
Stillman Executive Vice President Derrick Gilmore said he’s thankful for their community partners’ commitment in improving the campus.
“The gift from GAF serves as a launching pad for our overall Winsborough initiatives,” Gilmore said. “We really look forward to engaging with other community partners and collaborators in seeking funds and support to reenvision and reimagine what Winsborough Hall will be in the future.”
Winsborough Hall has remained vacant since the late 2000s and is the oldest structure on campus.
