The Basketball Tournament is an open-application single-elimination tournament played each summer at numerous locations throughout the nation.

This year’s tournament features a 64-team bracket with a $1 million winner-take-all prize broadcasted throughout ESPN platforms.

Team Sweet Home Alabama is just one of the 64 teams that are taking part in the TBT.

The mastermind behind this roster’s construction is Stillman College alumnus Brandon Wood, who is the team’s general manager.

A licensed agent with the NBA Players Association, he said the lessons he learned as a student coach at Stillman gave him valuable skills and knowledge.

“I had a ground-level kind of understanding of what recruiting is,” said Wood. “this is kind of it at it’s highest level really having to sit there and build it from scratch.”

The team features three former Crimson Tide Players: Mikhail Torrence, Justin Knox, and Justin Tubbs, along with players from UAB, Jacksonville State, Alabama State, and Talladega College.
