STAY DRY WHILE YOU’RE OUT ON THE WATER
Alabama State Troopers want to remind residents to be safe over the Fourth of July weekend, especially if you’re planning on being out in the water on a boat.
State Trooper Reginal King said that during last year’s holiday, 20 “boating under the influence” citations were issued. Drinking and boating is just as illegal as drinking and driving.
King also said there were seven accidents on the water during that same time, and one resulted in a fatality.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said increased patrols begin Friday at midnight and go through midnight on Sunday..
