HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – The state law enforcement agency is investigating two separate fatal shootings by law enforcement officers.

The Madison County sheriff’s office said 50-year-old Ray King of Hazel Green was killed Thursday when deputies were responding to a report of outside gunfire during a domestic dispute.

The office said deputies “made contact” with King, who was armed with a gun. King was shot and killed.

WHNT and WAFF reported that family members said the domestic dispute involved a female family member at a nearby home, and was not at King’s house.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is reviewing the shooting. It is also investigating a Gadsden shooting that killed Cody Stewart, 28.
