SORORITY DONATES BACKPACKS TO MARTIN LUTHER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School got a big surprise at their open house Wednesday. Free backpacks!
The big backpack donation came from the Kappa Alpha Kappa sorority’s Eta Xi Omega Graduate Chapter.
The sorority donated 100 backpacks during the open house, thanks to their national “One Million Backpacks” campaign, designed to promote learning by giving backpacks and school supplies to 1 million students across the nation.
About 30 of the backpacks were donated by Tuscaloosa’s Academy Sports and Outdoors, but the other 70 were provided by Kappa Alpha Kappa members.
