Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Northport is reporting that one of their smokers was stolen over the weekend.

The smoker, which was custom made for the church three years ago, is large and has “Chapel Hill” painted on its side.

The church uses its smokers to raise money for their youth group, mission trips and the soup kitchen.

“Our desire is just to get that smoker back,” said Casey Speigner, the minister of worship at the church. “We use it a lot. We use it for our youth and for our children when they go on missions. We sell Boston butts and hams and those kind of things, so we can raise money so our kids don’t have to and families don’t have to come up with that money on their own. We just want it back. We just want to see it returned safely back to where it belongs.”

If anyone has any information on where the smokers are, contact the church or call Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867.
