SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF FUND GETS $1M THANKS TO RESTART TUSCALOOSA

Chamber Of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s Small Business Relief Fund is $1 million bigger this week.

The extra cash is a game changer for many small businesses who have kept the Druid City strong for decades, said Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox.

Maddox and members of the Tuscaloosa City Council made the donation possible by approving Restart Tuscaloosa, a $15 million investment plan for the city with funding going toward public safety, streets and more.

“This may not help them survive five months or six months, but it does provide another bridge as the federal relief begins to subside,” Maddox said. “This provides a little bit more going into the summer. Whether it’s more rent payment or payroll, this gives them the ability to keep surviving and advancing.”
