SKILLVILLE BINGO HALL CLOSES AFTER DRUG BUST

Walker County

In Walker County, Sheriff’s Deputies shutdown the Skillville Bingo Hall on Highway 78 Sunday night.

Sheriff’s deputies said the operators were running an illegal gambling operation, very similar to one they were running in Carbon Hill. According to deputies, the operators opened the Skillville Hall after the Carbon Hill shut down, trying to skirt the law with modified machines. Sheriff Nick Walker said he plans on shutting down all illegal gambling operations in Walker County.

This was the second drug bust in Walker County over the past weekend.

On Friday, Sheriff’s deputies and police say they found over 20 grams of meth, ecstasy pills and drug paraphernalia at an apartment complex on Fall City Road in Jasper.

They arrested four suspects 46-year-old Avery Gene Shanklin of Jasper, 35-year-old Randa Lasha Morgan of Sumiton, 39-year-old Brandi Elaine Brown and 20-year-old Gabriel Hollis Cordell both of Cordova. All four face drug charges.

Investigators said Shanklin was a major supplier of meth and ecstasy.
