Skilled trades program hosts first graduation ceremony

The Skilled Trades of West Alabama Apprenticeship Program had its first annual celebration of founding at the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy.

The apprenticeship program was established in September 2020 to help build a highly skilled and qualified workforce for the construction industry in Tuscaloosa.

Gary Phillips, Founder and Chairman of Skilled Trades of West Alabama, shares what he hopes is in store for the next year.

“(We hope to see) more students, more people training, more people learning the trades and giving back to the community,” said Phillips.
