Six Northridge students sign athletic scholarships for college

It was an exciting day at Northridge High School as six students signed athletic scholarships to attend and play sports at the college level.

Preslee Thompson signed to play volleyball at South Alabama, Mary Mac Collins signed to run cross country at Auburn, Trace Bracknell signed to play golf at UAB, Ella Morgan Sears signed to play softball at Coastal Alabama Community College, Brady McAbee signed to play baseball at Snead State Community College, and Wilkin Formby signed to play football at Alabama.

Formby talked about what it will be like playing for his dream school, the Crimson Tide.

“It’s going to be big,” Formby said. “I’m super thankful for everything God has done for me. I get to play at the best program. Alabama is the best program and I’m super thankful for that.”

Formby also mentioned that he will start practicing with Alabama on Dec. 15th as it prepares to face Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Dec. 31st.
