The recent turmoil in Bibb County continues. A woman has been kidnapped, two people have been hospitalized for gunshot wounds, a prisoner has escaped and three people have been murdered…all in just one week.
Two bodies were found Monday in the county. Residents are concerned about their usually quiet community.
The victims have been identified as nineteen-year-old Tevin Rutledge of Brent and twenty seven-year-old Lequan Clayton of Centreville.
State Trooper Reginal King confirms with WVUA Clayton was disabled and in a wheelchair.
The killer is suspected to be Manley Deontay Bray, twenty-one of Centreville.
Rutledge was the first victim found Monday night on University Way.
Clayton’s body was located around two miles away on Ingate Road.
Tuscaloosa police took Bray into custody after they spotted him driving one of the victim’s vehicles.
A second subject was questioned and released after authoritites determined he had no involvement in the crimes.
Tevin Rutledge’s family tells WVUA Bray and Rutledge were cousins and Rutledge and Clayton were best friends.
A fund to assist Rutledge’s family with funeral expenses has been set up at First Financial Bank under the name “Tevin Rutledge Memorial Fund.”
