Shooting claims life of off-duty firefighter near Birmingham

PELHAM, Ala. (AP) – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting in a Birmingham suburb.
Al.com reports that the shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the Shelby County city of Pelham.
The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service says the man who was killed was a firefighter who was off-duty at the time.
Police said they have a person of interest in custody. Few other details were immediately available early Monday.
