SHERIFF: DRIVER KILLED IN CRASH DURING CHASE IN ALABAMA

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) – Authorities in Alabama say a person accused of stealing a vehicle has died in a single-car crash during a police chase.

Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims says in a statement that the stolen vehicle report came in just before the chase began early Thursday morning.

The sheriff says the driver lost control and crashed at an intersection, resulting in death.

AL.com reports an official says high speeds and rain may have contributed to the crash. No deputies were injured.
