Shelton State Community College is now accepting applications for a new scholarship for students entering the fall semester.
The Collegiate 100 scholarship will waive tuition up to 16 hours in the fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters, and up to 12 hours during the summer 2023 semester. Applications are due June 30.
“This scholarship is a great opportunity for students, especially those of color, to participate in a nationally recognized organization that focuses on mentoring students as they matriculate through college and careers,” said Collegiate 100 sponsor Eric Prewitt in a statement.
Applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher to be eligible. Selected students will interview on the Martin Campus after demonstrating skills in leadership, communication, mentoring peers and commitment to Shelton State and the Collegiate 100 organization.
Collegiate 100 is among Shelton State’s most active student organizations. Sponsored by 100 Black Men of West Alabama, the organization helps mentor students transitioning from high school to college in a one-on-one program.
