A second person is facing capital murder charges in the wake of a 16-year-old’s shooting death Monday.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said the suspect, who is younger than 18, was taken into custody and charged Tuesday. The defendant will be charged as an adult, but because of a new Alabama law passed last year, law enforcement cannot release any information concerning the defendant, TVCU said.

Another suspect, 18-year-old Ladamien Rogers-Wallace, is also facing capital murder charges in the death of 16-year-old David Martin Jr.

Martin was shot multiple times Monday while inside a car in the Valley Hills area of Northport. He was taken to the hospital but did not survive his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests may be coming, investigators said.
