Each week, the Southeastern Conference highlights the most outstanding players of the conference with awards.

Alabama’s Kira Lewis Jr. was named the SEC Player of the Week, while Jaden Shackelford earned SEC Freshman of the Week. Both players had standout games against Auburn and LSU, marking the first time in program history that the Crimson Tide has swept the weekly awards.

Lewis also broke another Alabama record as only the second player in program history, first since 1996, to earn a triple-double. Lewis averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 block in games against Auburn and LSU. Meanwhile, Shackelford averaged 27.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals in those two game.

The Tide will face Texas A&M in Coleman Coliseum Wednesday at 6 p.m. in hopes to strengthen its rank in the SEC and shoot for a chance at making the tournament.
