SEARCH SUSPENDED FOR MISSING 97-YEAR-OLD IN TUSCALOOSA
In Tuscaloosa, investigators suspended their search, but have not given up hope of finding 97-year-old Cecil Mcallister alive.
Mcallister was last seen Tuesday afternoon.
Mcallister’s family told WVUA 23 he often goes for long walks in the area near his residence in Cottondale.
Mcallister is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
Search crews have canvased the area near his home since 5 p.m. Tuesday. There’s been no trace of Mcallister whatsoever.
Today, Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service suspended their search, saying they’ve exhausted their list of areas Mcallister’s friends and family reported he may be.
With a drastic turn in weather conditions, Deputy Chief Chris Williamson’s concerns have heightened.
“With the heavy rain we have had over the last day or two and the falling temperatures, we are obviously concerned about hypothermia being a possibility or falls and injuries,” Williamson said. “We are very concerned about him being able to survive weather like this without any shelter.”
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Cecil Mcallister, please call Tuscaloosa Police at 205-349-2121.
