SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING MARENGO COUNTY GIRL

By Mary-Margaret Schmidt, WVUA 23 Staff

Rebecca Henderson Paulk is still missing after 16 days, and her parents and investigators are still searching for answers. Paulk’s car and her belongings were found earlier this month in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.

Police said they’ve found a cellphone in a field by Paulk’s car but are still determining if Paulk is the owner.

The Henderson family said they’ve received reports of surveillance video of Paulk in her white Honda Civic at a Meridian business the day after she went missing.

Wes and Janet Henderson, Paulk’s parents, said she left their Demopolis home on Labor Day evening with the intent to come back. They said Paulk even left her three dogs at their home.

On Tuesday, the body of a woman described as blonde and in her 20s was discovered by a fisherman in Lauderdale County. She was identified as Sarah Beard. Beard has also been missing from that area.

The Hendersons said their hearts go out to that young woman’s family, but hope they’ll soon also have answers about where their own daughter is.

“We are blessed, you know”, Janet Henderson said. “We are thankful for everyone who has been searching the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.”

The Henderson family is offering $5,000 to anyone who can provide them with answers.

Janet Henderson said the family will never give up looking for their daughter. The Hendersons said they’re still hopeful Paulk will be found safe and alive.

Rebecca Henderson Paulk is 26 years old. She has blonde hair and green eyes. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 140 pounds. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lauderdale Country Sheriff’s Office at 601-482-9700 or 334-654-7055.
