SCHOOL BUS ATTACK VIDEO RELEASED

Tuscaloosa authorities have released video from Wednesday, September 16th of 24-year-old Michael Simmons attacking a Tuscaloosa City Schools aide on a school bus.
The incident happened around 3:30 in the Crescent Gardens subdivision after Simmons was allegedly upset with the bus aide for quote “putting his hands” on Simmons’ nephew.

According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Simmons flagged down the bus after his nephew had been dropped off.
Authorities say Simmons confessed to punching the aide numerous times in the face and head.
Simmons has been charged with assault in the second degree and trespassing, for boarding the bus.
The bus aide was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center with a major fracture to his left eye socket.
He will require surgery.
Lt. Brad Mason with the Tuscaloosa Police Department tells WVUA 23 multiple complaints have been made by the same family about this school employee.
TPD is reviewing video of the aide’s interaction with this particular student.
We spoke with Simmons’ mother who’s the grandmother of the child.
She says she’s been making complaints to the school system since September 4th.

We also talked with several other parents and grandparents of children who ride the same bus.
Many of them told us their children have complained to them about this bus aide as well.
The investigation in ongoing.
